Souhrn: V přehledovém článku jsou stručně představeny patofyziologie a klinický obraz průduškového astmatu. Podrobněji jsou rozebrány diagnostické metody, fenotypizace a nejvíce pozornosti je věnováno aktuálním doporučením pro farmakologickou léčbu astmatu včetně biologické léčby. Krátce je zmíněna i nefarmakologická metoda léčby astmatu – bronchiální termoplastika.

A current perspective on the diagnosis and treatment of asthma
Summary: This review is intended to briefly describe pathophysiology, clinical presentation of bronchial asthma. Diagnostic methods, phenotyping are described. Main focus stands on actual guidelines for pharmacological treatment including biological therapy of bronchial asthma. Nonpharmacological treatment (bronchial thermoplasty) is mentioned as well.
